Marriage: 2 People Working Side By Side!

When I think of the perfect marriage, I think of my parents. Now don't get me wrong I know there marriage isn't perfect, but what I do know is I want my marriage to be just like theres. I see the good things and am trying to put them into my marriage to make it the best marriage I can.

Some of the things they do to make the Perfect Marriage:
  • They treat each other like the King and Queen they are. They are so sweet to one another, they are kind, loving and treat each other so wonderfully. This is something I am definately working on. I forget to be patient with my hubby and sometimes loose my cool with him but I am working on it.
  • My parents walk side by side..... by this I mean they NEVER make decisions without consulting each other, whether it be something small or something big. It amazes me how often I see spouses or families never consult with anyone else, expecially their spouses, on what should be done or the best decision is for the family. They feel they have to do it one way and NO ONE else gets an opinion on it. My parents always consult with each other and/or anyone else who may be involved in the decision to be made and they listen.
  • My parents know the importance of intimacy. I am not talking about things that should happen behind closed doors but things that are OK to happen in public. Growing up I never questioned whether or not my parents loved each other. They were always holding hands, stealing a kiss or two, cuddling, or numerous other things. They know the importance of intimacy in marriage. I  remember when Buzz and I were dating, and I believe we were just cuddling on a couch, we   had someone get after us for "being to intimate." I never understood it and now if someone said that to me, I would probably glare at them and continue to cuddle.  I understand people are uncomfortable with public display of affection, but I think it is important. I do not want my kids to EVER wonder if there parents really truely LOVE each other. Actions speak a lot louder than words, and it honestly makes me sad when I never see the same people even holding hands.
  • My Dad still to this day will open the door for my Mom! This is one that David has down pat. He gets mad at me if I open the door for myself when he is with me. I learned to let guys open the door for me, and it has helped in my marriage, and it is not something that I had to teach Buzz to do, he came to me doing this. There is a picture circulating around Facebook of a Guy opening a car door for a girl and it says "Real Men Still Do This!" I completely and totally agree!!! All men should open the door for their Ladies and Ladies should let them. I hate the excuse that some Ladies use, "I hate waiting for them to walk around the car to open my door" Really??? You can't wait 5 seconds? Let your Guy be a Guy, Let him be a King to you the Queen.
  • They work together to get things done. They do things together and LOVE spending time together. I still sometimes need me time, but I love spending time with him and he loves being with me.
  • They have taught us as kids to be independent. My parents are my best friends, and I know I can turn to them for ANYTHING, but they also taught me to do things on my own, pick up after myself, ask when I needed things and not expect it to be handed to me, they did this so that when I went off to college or when I got married, I could rely on my Husband and not my Parents. They will always be there for me.... I know this without a doubt, but I also know they taught me independence.
My parents have been married for 40 years and I know without a doubt that it will take me a long time to get my marriage to where they are at, but I have a firm beginning! We just have to keep working on it and never give up on it! I love my parents, they are amazing and wonderful. Thank you for being such a good example of a "Perfect" marriage!

Projects!

Ok so lately I have been super busy! Between Little Prince and Little Princess getting sick, family activities, working on cleaning up so we can rearrange our house, sewing and just being a mom we have had quite a few weeks. Our house is decorated for Christmas, Christmas Presents are wrapped and we are so excited for Christmas with 2 kiddos instead of one and to celebrate in our own house. It will be so fun.

Anyways, my Brother-in-law is leaving on his mission in less than a week, and so we are doing his Christmas tomorrow. We will be doing our usual get matching PJ's and this year I really wanted my kids to have PJ's that match us so we can get a cute picture. Well of course its hard to find Pj's for adults and for children that are the same so heres what we did.....

We bought these....

1 XXL pair of Pants

3 large Shirts
Cut them up, did a little sewing, a little ironing, and some clipping threads and made these.....

1 toddler shirt/pants and 2 infant shirt/pants....
I love they turned out, Now we hope they fit!

What have I been up to?

No good as always. I am really trying to declutter and organize my house but that is hard when you have two little ones that require a lot of attention and one of which makes messes as fast as you can pick them up. I focus on one room and another gets torn apart, and vise versa. Someday I will get on top of things, and hopefully sooner rather than later. I have big plans for the house. Some rearranging to do, if I can get the hubby on board. We will see.

I also have some sewing projects that I now have less than a week to finish. Once I get them done I will for sure take pictures and post them on here!

I have updated the family blog, so you can go check that out as well. I am trying to become a better mom, but that takes a lot of work and patience on my part. Hopefully I can keep up with all I wish to do.

I am thinking of some new years resolutions currently..... I will post them when I get them set in stone. Maybe that will help me keep them...... ha ha ha thats funny.

Sorry this point is so disjointed it is after midnight and I can't sleep!

What have I been up to?

I have been super busy lately, with sicknesses, cleaning, working on certain projects, and taking care of kids I have been super busy. Being a stay at home mom isn't as easy as it sounds..... I can't really post the projects here because some of them are for Christmas Presents. I can say that I am almost done with most of them. We have a lot of gifts under the tree and have almost all the gifts bought that need to be bought. It's been fun getting ready for Christmas this year. I am excited for Little Princess to experiance it think she will have tons of fun now that she understands it more.
I will share one project I did. I wanted to make sure that Little Princess had a Thanksgiving shirt, so I found one on pinterest and made it.... it turned out super cute. Here it is:

I found the pattern on pinterest and thought hey I can totally make that! I have another one that is a Christmas tree that I plan to make for Christmas time. I also have to make some PJ bottoms for the kids and shirts as well and those have to be done in 15 days..... I have a lot to do before Christmas. But I have a wonderful husband who supports me and so I can get them done. Anywho  got to go to bed.

When Life Gives You Lemons....

So can I just tell you how much I hate allergies. The last two times I have gotten sick with colds it is right after I have had a major allergy attack. I have your typical allergies hay fever, but I am also immensly allergic to rabbits, hay and cats. The problem is my in-laws have a cat which my daughter loves, and try as I may I can't get it into her head not to touch the cat and unless I am outside with her it doesn't get enforced. Well two Saturdays ago we went to my inlaws to carve pumpkins, I came home and Sunday had a major allergy attack that medicine wouldn't touch. Then on Monday I woke up with a scratchy throat and by the end of the day my nose was runny. Little Prince started to sound stuffy on Thursday, and little princess got sick the next day. So even though Halloween is over I have not been able to work on anything as far as cleaning, organizing etc.... I did do one thing that I am proud of and that is make a menu for the week as we are trying to eat out a lot less. So I thought I would share my Menu for this week with you:

Sunday: Dinner with my Parents (Roast, Potatos, Gravy, Corn and Rolls. It was nummy.)
Monday: Frito's Taco Salad
Tuesday: Crockpot Cheesy Chicken Spaghetti (normally we do Taco Tuesday with my Parents, but this Tuesday we are taking a break.)
Wednesday: Taco Pizza
Thursday: Teriyaki Chicken Bowls
Friday: Chicken Noodle Casserole (I didn't find this one online.)
Saturday: Stack Dinners (A family recipe, this is to use the leftover veggies from earlier this week.)

Hopefully we can stick to this menu and I can continue to make a menu, to help us cut down on food costs.

I am also trying to get all my Christmas shopping and projects done before Thanksgiving, so that will take up some time.

So life will be busy, I want to organize/deep clean my house before the New Year.

I will be busy for the next few months, but it will be a good thing. Keep checking back for more updates!

Getting out!

So I don't know why but days I don't get out of the house make me really crabby! So I try to get out at least once a day, depending on the day and what there is to do. So this week my dear friend texted me and asked if I would help her with a costume for her little one and she also invited me to our local libraries storytime and can I just say I had a blast! It was fun to get out and spend time with my dear friend and then also be able to have some learning time for my dear little princess. She wasn't sure what to think, but I think she enjoyed it and I think it will have to be a weekly thing for us.
Today we got to go and visit Daddy at work. His work was having trick or treating for the kids and so we got the kids all dressed up and went around trick or treating. The little princess loved getting candy from everyone and we have a great time. It made today go by really quickly and we just had a wonderful time.
I think I am going to have to make sure we get out to do something fun at least every other day, hopefully this will make our lives not be a mundane and boring. I really love getting out with my kids and keeping them entertained. I will keep you updated on what we do with any new activities we find!

P.s. Our family blog is private so if you need an invite let me know!

Welcome!!!

So this blog is to serve two purposes.

The first is because I am making my family blog private I can let you know here that it is updated and then you can check it out. I love that I can make it so that only certain people can see your blogs, but I hate that if you want them to see it they have to check the blog and they don't get automatically updated so this will help the readers of my family blog know when I have updated my family blog.

The second is I am trying to be a better mother, since my Little Prince was born I still have been a good mom, but there is a lot that I need to improve on. We watch way to much tv and so I hope to do more activities with my Little Princess and Little Prince and watch less tv. Which when I do I will update the activities/crafts on here. We also eat out way to much, so I hope to cook more at home and when I do and find a good recipe I will post it so others can taste it as well. Then lastly since we moved into our house and the Little Prince was born my house has been lacking in organization in fact I have two rooms downstairs that are still full of boxes that need to be gone through and organized so as I am organizing my house and find good and inexpensive solutions I will post them on here.

This might seem boring to some but I figure if I have someone to report to I might do better at getting to my goal of being a homemade mom! Enjoy! Hope you check back often for new updates!
